Gilbert & Sullivan Society of Kansas Website
Logo & Website Build
The small but growing Midwest group of G&S enthusiasts wanted an ornate Victorian logo design. It would set the tone for everything else to fall into place. They offer sing-alongs, movies, workshops, and other opportunities for Kansans to experience and enjoy the amazing work of William Gilbert and Arthur Sullivan.
THE CHALLENGE
There was no preexisting website before G&S contacted Cottonwood Whispers. The budget was small but they needed a way to establish a presence, share their upcoming events, and sell tickets.
THE SOLUTION
I started out by developing a logo to set the stage, so to speak. The request was for an “ornate Victorian style logo.”
Once that was established I used to colors to grow the rest of the site. They didn’t have many photos as they are a fairly new organization, but I was able to unite the site with a large header and the few provided images. I kept it easy to navigate with big legible fonts and plenty of white space, offsetting the intricate logo. I incorporated PayPal Ticketing donations for the event sales – an easy and inexpensive solution.
